Most custom-home projects involve a separate architect, a designer, a general contractor, and a stack of subs that report to nobody in particular. When something goes wrong — and on custom builds, something always goes wrong — everyone points at everyone else.
In a design-build model — the way JCM has worked since 1996 — all of that lives under one roof. The same team that draws your plans is the team that prices them, builds them, and stands behind them when the warranty is up.
Discovery
We start by listening — to your vision, your land, and your budget.
No pressure, no fees. The first conversation exists for one reason: to see if we're the right fit for what you want to build. We ask about how you actually live, what your land does and doesn't allow, and what range you're comfortable spending.
If JCM isn't the right team — say, your budget puts you below our typical range, or your project's outside our service area — we'll tell you honestly and point you toward someone who is.

Design
Every plan engineered in-house — never from a template.
JCM doesn't build from stock plans or somebody else's drawings. Once we know what you want and what you can spend, our in-house staff architect — with 40 years on the same drafting table — develops the full set of engineered plans for your home. Budget, structure, and architectural intent all get reconciled before a single board is cut.
You see iterations. You sign off at each milestone. By the time we break ground, every line on the plan is a line you said yes to.

Build
Licensed craftsmen, weekly updates, transparent budget tracking.
Foundation to finish. Our crews are licensed, certified, and most have been with JCM for years — they know how we work and what we expect. You get a single project lead who answers the phone and walks the site, not a call center.
Every week you get an update: what was completed, what's next, and any pending decisions on your side. The budget is tracked openly. If something changes — and on custom builds, something always changes — you hear about it before it shows up on an invoice.

Deliver
Final walkthrough, punch list, warranty handoff — and we stay in touch.
When the home is ready, we walk it together. We make a punch list. We finish every item on it before we sign off. You get a complete warranty package, a binder of all your fixtures and finishes, and the contact info to reach us directly when you need us.
Most of our clients call us again — for an addition, a remodel a few years later, or a new build for their kids. That's the part we're proudest of.
